1) About These Terms
Business: Refurbed (“we”, “us”, “our”) • Location: Wyndham Vale, VIC • Website: refurbed.tech
When they apply
These Terms apply when you book a repair, sell a device to Refurbed, or buy a refurbished device from Refurbed.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Where applicable, ACL guarantees still apply.
By using our services or purchasing/selling devices with Refurbed, you agree to these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time; the version in effect at the time of your booking/order applies.
2) Repairs (Booking & Service)
2.1 Quotes & Diagnosis
- Quotes are based on the information you provide and typical faults for that issue.
- If additional faults are found during inspection/testing, we will contact you with an updated quote before proceeding.
- Some faults (e.g., logic board/microsoldering or liquid damage) may require additional time and cost. If required, turnaround may be longer.
2.2 Customer Responsibilities
- You confirm you are the legal owner (or authorised by the owner) and the device is not stolen, blacklisted, or subject to finance.
- You must disable Activation Lock / Find My iPhone (and remove any accounts/locks) before repair. We may be unable to proceed if the device is locked.
- You are responsible for backing up your data. Repairs can involve resets, updates, or component replacements that may cause data loss.
⚠️ Data: Refurbed is not responsible for data loss. Always back up your device before handing it over.
2.3 Parts & Workmanship
- We may use OEM, genuine pull, or high-quality aftermarket parts depending on availability and price tier (this may be disclosed on invoice/booking).
- Some repairs (e.g., screen replacements) may impact features like True Tone (if not transferred), water resistance, or Face ID if pre-existing damage exists.
- Water resistance is never guaranteed after any repair (including factory-sealed devices once opened).
2.4 Unrepairable Devices / Prior Damage
- If a device is not repairable due to prior damage (liquid damage, board damage, previous repair issues, bent frame, etc.), we will advise you.
- Where inspection/testing is performed, a diagnostic fee may apply if we cannot proceed (if you charge one, add the amount here).
2.5 Abandoned Devices
- If a device is left with us and not collected within 30 days of completion/notification, we may treat it as abandoned.
- We may apply storage fees and/or dispose of or recycle the device after reasonable attempts to contact you (in line with applicable law).
3) Selling Your Phone to Refurbed (Trade-In / Buyback)
3.1 Offer & Final Price
- Any quote to buy your device is provisional until we physically inspect and test it.
- Final price depends on: model/storage, condition, functionality, battery health, iCloud/activation status, IMEI status, and any faults not disclosed.
- If the device differs from what was described, we will make a revised offer. You can accept or decline.
3.2 Eligibility
- Device must not be stolen, blacklisted, iCloud/MDM locked, or subject to finance/ownership disputes.
- You must remove accounts and sign out of Apple ID/Google and disable Find My iPhone / Factory Reset Protection before handing over or posting.
3.3 Declined Offers
- If you decline our final offer, we can return the device to you after you pay return shipping (and any inspection fee if applicable).
- We are not responsible for devices returned with accounts/locks still enabled.
3.4 Transfer of Ownership
- Ownership transfers to Refurbed once we pay you and you hand over/post the device to us.
- By selling to us, you confirm you have the right to sell and you indemnify us against claims of theft/finance/ownership disputes.

24-Month Extended Warranty (extra)
Covers the same categories as the standard warranty for a longer period, subject to exclusions.
⚠️ Extended warranty note: Extended warranties do not cover accidental damage or liquid damage unless you explicitly sell an “accidental damage” plan (if you don’t, keep it excluded).
5.4 Warranty Claims Process
- Contact us with your name, order/booking details, and a clear description of the issue.
- We may require troubleshooting steps, photos/videos, and/or inspection.

We offer a 7-day return window for refurbished device purchases for eligible issues.

6.3 Eligible Return Reasons (within 7 days)
- Device is faulty on arrival (DOA) or develops a fault not caused by accidental damage/misuse.
- Device does not match the description provided on the invoice/product listing.
6.4 Repair Services (No Returns for Completed Labour)

6.5 Return Condition
- Returned devices must be in the same condition as supplied (no new damage).
- All included accessories (if any) must be returned.
- If a returned device has iCloud/activation lock enabled, we may be unable to process the return until removed.
Returns and refunds are handled in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
7) Shipping, Pickup, Mobile Service & Drop-off
7.1 Shipping (Mail-In / Returns)
- You are responsible for safe packaging: padded box, no loose movement, protected screen/camera.
- We recommend tracked shipping and keeping your tracking number.
- Risk passes to you until we receive the parcel, and to you again once we hand the parcel to the courier for returns (unless ACL requires otherwise).
7.2 Pickup / Mobile Repair
- Mobile repair/pickup availability may be limited by technician capacity and service area.
- Additional fees may apply for mobile service and/or long-distance travel.

9) Privacy, Data Handling & Security
- Devices may contain personal data. You are responsible for backing up and removing sensitive data before handover.
- We may access device settings/functions only as needed to diagnose, test, and complete your repair.
